About The Project
The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee, also known as BTRET, is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on saving Boston Terriers, Boston Terrier mixes, and other dogs, rehabilitating them, and finding them good homes. They provide love and care to these animals in need and are able to operate due to generous supporters and donations. My focus was to create a recognizable brand for BTRET's social media through an illustrated ad and their print media by extending the designs to a brochure. These designs were created using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

The Design Process
BTRET did not use a specific brand identity outside of its logo. Their target audience was those interested in adopting a rescue, fostering a rescue, or donating to dogs in need; however, their broader audience was fans of the Boston Terrier breed and those who love dogs in general. The key challenge for this project was creating a cohesive brand across the business. A unified look across their wide outreach would help BTRET look professional and organized, and increase its engagement with donors, volunteers, and even adopters.
The primary and secondary colors of blues and grays were a great start from their website to blend across their social media and printed media. I presented a renewed mockup of an event and illustrated a social media ad based on Facebook's image guidelines. Because BTRET only uses Facebook, a new page banner was made to tie the look together. Using these new designs, I implemented them into a tri-fold brochure to be handed out at adoption events.
